PHILADELPHIA — The Clemson track and field program put up several impressive performances at a rain-soaked Franklin Field on the second day of the 127th Penn Relays, concluding with the men taking home the wagon wheel for sprint medley relay. With several groups and individuals advancing to the finals, Clemson has set itself up for a thrilling final day of action on Saturday. Action will begin at 9:30 a.m. with the women’s discus throw and run until 3:35 p.m. with the men’s 4×400 meter relay.

THURSDAY HIGHLIGHTS

  • Brynne Sumner set a massive PR in the 1500 meter run, finishing the race in 4:20.96. That time is sixth-best in Clemson history and puts Sumner on her second top-10 list of the season. She holds the No. 7 spot in the 800 meter run.
  • Maddie Dinneen’ 10:41.77 time in the 3000 meter steeplechase puts her at No. 4 in school history. It is a huge improvement from her previous personal best of 10:49.43.
  • Marie Forbes finished fourth in the women’s hammer throw with a mark of 62.34 meters.
  • Lashanna Graham finished second in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 56.62, just .08 seconds off her personal best.
  • Sawyer Dagan’s 14:27.17 in the 5k was a personal best.
