CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson track & field returns to action tomorrow, Jan. 22, to host the Orange & Purple Invitational and will compete against several schools including Alabama, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Syracuse, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and South Carolina. Originally scheduled to take place on Friday, Jan. 23, and Saturday, Jan. 24, the invitational was moved up to tomorrow, Jan. 22 and Friday due to impending weather.

Only two events (the women’s and men’s weight throw) will take place Thursday evening, starting at 6 p.m. The women’s pentathlon will kick off Friday at 8 a.m. with the 60m hurdles, and the 800m will serve as the final event at 2 p.m. The men’s heptathlon was canceled with the schedule change.

The women’s pole vault and men’s high jump open Friday’s field events up at 10 a.m., with the women’s 1000m run serving as the first track event at 10:30 a.m. The triple jumps and women’s high jump will be the final field events, beginning at 5 p.m. The women’s distance medley relay will start at 8 p.m., concluding the meet.

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE

ACC WEEKLY AWARDS (Jan. 13, 2026)

  • The Tigers claimed five of the six available ACC Weekly Performance Awards following their efforts at the Clemon Invitational.
  • Grant Holliday won the men’s track performer of the week after recording top five times on Clemson’s 300m and 600m all-time lists.
    • Leading the Tigers in the men’s 300m, he finished fourth with a new personal record of 32.64 seconds which is the second-fastest time on Clemson’s all-time top five list.
    • Holliday also finished second in the men’s 600m with a time of 1:16.55 (PR), good for third on Clemson’s all-time top five performance list.
  • Brayden Tidwell earned the men’s rookie performer of the week after finishing third in the men’s 200m with a time of 21.53 seconds.
  • Gladys Chepngetich received the women’s track performer of the week by winning the 600m and topping her own school record with a time of 1:26.66.
    • Chepngetich also ran a leg on Clemson’s top-placing 4x400m relay team, contributing to a fourth-place finish with a time of 3:39.98.
  • Shauntae Foreman was the women’s field performer of the week after setting a new PR in the long jump with 6.50m / 21′ – 01.75″, which ranks second on Clemson’s all-time top 10 list.
    • Foreman competed in the same 4x400m relay team as Chepngetich and placed eighth in the 200m with a time of 23.79 seconds.
  • Kimeka Smith claimed the women’s rookie performer of the week, her second in as many eligible weeks, for her shot put victory.
    • Her winning distance of 15.98m / 52′ – 05.25″ broke her own Clemson freshman women’s shot put record that she set at the Clemson Opener (15.06m / 49’ – 05.00”) and is fifth on Clemson’s all-time top 10 list.
