Volleyball Adds Two to 2013 Signing Class

CLEMSON, SC – Head Volleyball Coach Jolene Jordan Hoover announced the signing of Irem Bayramoglu and Milica Stamenic to National Letters of Intent on Friday. They’ll join early signees Cayley Balser, Leah Perri, and Megan Giardina in the 2013 freshman class.  “We are pleased to announce that Irem and Milica will be joining our team and program,” said Hoover, whose teams have won 20 or more matches in six of the past seven seasons. “Both players bring international experience to our team, and with the addition of our three that we have already signed, we are excited about the balance and versatility of this incoming class.” Bayramoglu becomes the next in a series of Istanbul, Turkey natives, each of whom has made significant contributions to the Clemson program. Didem Ege (2007-10) was a three-time All-ACC selection and the ACC Defensive Player of the Year, Cansu Ozdemir (2007-11) was a two-time captain, and Serenat Yaz (2009-12) made the All-ACC team.  Bayramoglu is a 5-foot-10 outside hitter, and played at Bostanci Doga College and for the Vakifbank Spor Kubulu club program.  Stamenic, a 5-foot-7 libero, hails from Novi Beograd, Serbia. Stamenic played club volleyball with Odbojkaski Klub Vizura and attended the Belgrade First School of Economics.  “Passing was an important need for this recruiting class with the graduation of two of our primary passers who started for us for the past four years,” said Hoover. “Milica is a very highly regarded libero, an exceptional passer and she reads extremely well defensively. Irem is a six-rotation outside who is a very solid passer as well.”  Clemson is looking to replace four four-year starters from the 2012 team in Sandra Adeleye, Alexa Rand, Natalie Patzin, and Serenat Yaz. This five-member signing class, along with the addition of Beta Dumancic and Niki Collier, who are already on campus, aims to fill those spots.
