The South Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame is pleased to announce its Female Co-Amateur Athletes of the year, Chrissy Floyd of Clemson and Kristy McPherson of USC. Chrissy Floyd is a native of Laurens, SC and a star for the Lady Tigers basketball team. Kristy McPherson is a native of Conway, SC and a top golfer at USC.
Floyd is only the second player in school history to lead the lady Tigers in scoring for four straight years and to be named All-ACC for four years running. She has been named to the ACC’s 50th Anniversary Team and the Kodak Region All-American team for the third year in a row.
McPherson was just named SEC Golfer of the Year and leads the SEC in stroke average. She placed third in the SEC Championships this year after claiming back to back league titles in 2001-2002. This is her third year on the first team All-SEC squad. Her freshman year, she earned first team All-SEC honors after winning the SEC championship with a record breaking 207 score.
