Athletic Highlight: | Salge recorded her fifth and sixth straight singles wins with victories against Wake Forest and N.C. State last weekend. She was one of six Tigers to post a singles victory in Clemson’s sweep of the Wolfpack on Sunday. Salge partnered with teammate Ani Mijacika to post their fourth consecutive victory in doubles action against the Demon Deacons on Saturday. Clemson swept all three doubles flights for the seventh time this season in that match, winning the point in under an hour of play. The 20th-ranked tandem of Salge and Mijacika improved to 9-2 on the year on Sunday with a win over Berkeley Brock and Daria Petrovic of N.C. State at the top doubles position. | Athletic Highlight: | Hinson was named ACC Co-Pitcher-of-the-Week after an eventful week for the Tiger baseball team. Hinson picked up a save and a victory in two outings. In Clemson’s second game against Elon, he pitched 2.0 perfect innings in relief and recorded three strikeouts in a close game to preserve the Tigers’ win and earn the save. At Maryland on Sunday, Hinson allowed just six hits, two runs and one walk with eight strikeouts as the Tigers collected a 6-2 win over the Terps. For the week, Hinson pitched 9.0 innings, allowing just six hits, two runs and one walk, while striking out 11. |
