UNCASVILLE, CONN. (AP) – Ray Henderson had 13 points and 12 rebounds to lead Clemson to a 78-48 win over Hartford Friday night at the Mohegan Sun Arena.
Clemson (9-4) trailed 16-15 midway through the first half but went on a 16-7 run in the final seven minutes of the half. The Tigers opened the second half with a 22-12 run in the first 12 minutes, taking a 53-35 lead.
The lead hit 20 points at 57-37 when Clemson’s Tony Stockman made a layup with 6:14 left. The Tigers shot 55 percent from the field in the second half, and outrebounded Hartford 52-33 for the game.
Henderson, who shot 5-of-6 from the field, led three other players scoring in double figures. Chris Hobbs scored 12 points, while Stockman and Sharrod Ford both had 10 points.
Hartford (2-10) was led by Ryan Stys, who scored 12 points. Junior Amous added seven points and four rebounds for the Hawks, while Josh Odugbela chipped in four points and seven rebounds.
