CLEMSON, S.C. — Clemson will open the spring portion of its 2025-26 schedule at The Prestige in LaQuinta, Calif. on Monday. The 54-hole, three-day event will be played at the Norman Course at PGA West, Feb. 16-18.
The 24 team tournament includes 11 Power 4 Conference teams, including ACC schools Clemson, Wake Forest, SMU and Stanford. There are seven teams ranked in the top 50 in the nation, led by Texas Tech (15), Wake Forest (25), Stanford (28), Clemson (34), Arkansas Little Rock (44), Northwestern (45) and Kansas State (47).
Clemson enters the spring with a 43-21-2 record for a .667 winning percentage. The Tigers have played in five events and have three top three finishes, including the championship of the Marquette Invitational at Erin Hills in October.
Clemson will have a lineup that includes two seniors, two freshmen and a junior for its first-ever appearance in this tournament. Junior transfer Oscar Bredkjaer leads the team in stroke average with a 71.75 figure. He has four under-par rounds, all in the 60s. His best finish was seventh at the Bryan Brothers in Columbia, S.C. in September.
Lucas Augustsson has a pair of seventh place finishes so far this year and his 72.53 stroke average is second best on the team. He leads the team in rounds in the 60s with five.
Thomas Higgins joins Augustsson as seniors in the Clemson lineup. The fourth year player has a 73.07 stroke average so far this year and has six rounds at par or better. Higgins leads the team with three top 10 finishes in five events. This will be the 33rd tournament of his career.
Freshman Jackson Byrd will make his first appearance in the Clemson lineup at The Prestige. He had an injury plagued fall and played just one tournament as an individual. He finished 20th with a two-under-par 214 score at the Myrtle Beach Collegiate back in September. Byrd was a three-time AJGA All-American during his junior career.
Freshman Sam Duran will round out the Clemson team lineup. He played in two events in the fall and has a 76.5 stroke average.
Sophomores Rich Wills and Colin Salema will play in an individual tournament at another course during the trip.
