Raven Thompson Nets Season-High 24 Points In Win at Miami, 70-55

Coral Gables, Fla. – Senior forward Raven Thompson notched a season-high 24 points to propel Clemson women’s basketball (11-5, 2-2 ACC) past Miami (10-5, 2-2 ACC) at the Watsco Center on Sunday afternoon.

The Tiger offense scored 70 points for the eleventh time this season. Thompson led the way for Clemson, knocking down four three-pointers on her way to a season-high 24 points, her fourth double-digit scoring effort of the season, on an efficient 10-12 shooting. Demeara Hinds (13 points, seventh game in double digits) and Rusne Augustinaite (12 points, ninth game in double digits) joined Thompson in double-digit points. On the glass, the Tigers out-rebounded Miami 32-25. Senior guard/forward Hadley Periman had a team-high seven boards. Senior guard Mia Moore distributed a career-high 12 assists.

Miami was led by Ra Shaya Kyle and Gal Raviv with 12 points apiece.

HOW THE GAME WAS DECIDED

The Tigers entered the halftime locker room down by two points. After a Raven Thompson layup in the first minute of the third quarter, Clemson would never trail again. The game remained close until the fourth quarter. Miami tied the game at 48-48, but the Tigers used a 22-7 run in the last 8:24 to earn a 15-point victory.
