Clemson Notes:
- The Tigers are coming off a pair of 2-1 victories over the weekend, improving to 2-0 early in the season.
- Junior Diego Campos led the way for the Tigers with a pair of goals against Providence in the Tigers home opener.
- The Tigers are on a four-match unbeaten streak at home, dating back to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2015.
- Clemson is ranked No. 2 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Poll for week one, No. 5 by Hero Sports, No. 3 by Soccer America, and No. 8 by Top Drawer Soccer.
- The Clemson men’s soccer team is off to a 2-0 start for the second consecutive year and have won their home opener for six straight years after Sunday’s victory over Providence.
Creighton Notes:
- Creighton opened the 2016 campaign with a 2-0 victory over Rutgers on Aug. 26. Lucas Stauffer had converted a penalty kick before Riggs Lennon added a second goal.
- The Bluejays lost six starters from last season’s team, including four players that earned national or BIG EAST recognition.
- Creighton led the nation in wins (19) during the 2015 season. The Bluejays were eliminated from the NCAA Tournament in double overtime by Akron
- With the departure of six seniors, including BIG EAST Co-Goalkeeper of the Year Connor Sparrow, Head Coach Bolowich welcomes 12 newcomers to the Blue Jays.
- Creighton has not lost either of its first two matches in any of the previous nine seasons.
