Belton, S.C. – The Clemson’s men’s tennis team returned to action over the weekend at the South Carolina Men’s Collegiate Championships. A total of seven Tigers competed over the weekend and finished the tournament a combined 10-7 in singles and 7-7 in doubles.
Pierre-Louis Dodens/Jacob Jahn earned 4-1 marks in doubles over the weekend and advanced to the doubles championship, defeating opponents from Anderson, Winthrop and Wofford on the way. The pair fell to Julian Chousa/Omar Williams of Wofford in the title match.
In his collegiate debut, junior Jaxon Wiley went an impressive 3-1 in singles, defeating North Greenville’s Giacomo Garini, Anderson’s Simon Wilson and Lander’s Nicolas Chan before falling to Coker’s Jason Smith, 6-2, 6-4. Senior Carlos Kelaidis also got off to a hot start, posting wins in his first two matches of the tournament before falling in the third round while sophomore Jacob Jahn bounced back from a first-round defeat to go 2-1 on the weekend.
The Tigers return to action for the fourth consecutive week on Friday when they head to the Georgia Tech Invitational.
