Clemson in 21st Place after Two Rounds of The Prestige

2nd Round Update

CLEMSON, S.C. — Oscar Bredkjaer had a three-over-par 74 to lead Clemson in the second round of The Prestige Invitational at the Norman Course at PGA West in La Quinta, CA.

Playing in the afternoon wave, the Tigers had a team score of 28-over-par 314 on the par 71 course that measures 7,105 yards. Clemson is in 21st place in the 24-team field entering Wednesday’s final round.

The Tigers did not count a double bogey or worse score on any hole among the four counters in the first round when they had a team score of 290. But, big numbers plagued the Tigers on Tuesday as the five Tigers had 12 holes of double bogey or worse in the second round.

Bredkjaer, Clemson’s leader in stroke average entering the week, has had rounds of 75-74 and his seven-over-par 36-hole score of 149 is best among the Tigers so far. His 74 in the second round was four shots better than any other Tiger. Senior Thomas Higgins shot a 78, while freshmen Sam Duran and Jackson Byrd shot 82. Senior Lucas Augustsson had a second round 82.

In the Prestige Individual tournament being held at another course, Clemson sophomore Colin Salema had a second round 73 on the par 72 course. He is in ninth place out of 51 golfers entering the final round with a four-over-par score of 148.
