Tigers Drop Road Dual with No. 21 NC State

RALEIGH, N.C. – The 14th-ranked Clemson Gymnastics team opened up its league and road dual meet schedule with a 195.925 at No. 21 NC State in Reynolds Coliseum on Saturday. NC State (1-1, 1-0 ACC) earned a 196.125 to secure its fourth dual meet victory over the Tigers (1-2, 0-1 ACC) in as many tries. 

Brie Clark earned first on the floor with a 9.925 and tied for the beam title with a 9.800. Tara Walsh won vault for the fourth time in her Tiger career with a 9.900, and Ella Cesario tied for first on bars with a 9.875. 

Each of the four rotations was close in scoring, with neither team winning any event by more than 0.225 points, Clemson on bars, 49.175-48.950. The Tigers held an edge entering the fourth rotation, but a strong floor performance from the Wolfpack put NC State over the top.

Bars: 49.175

All five counting scores were at 9.800 or higher as Ella Cesario put in a season-best 9.875 in the fifth spot and Eve Jackson had a 9.850 in the fourth spot. Lilly Lippeatt added a 9.825 in the leadoff spot, and Quinn Kuhl had a 9.825 in the anchor. Hannah Clark’s 9.800 in the second spot rounded out the scoring. Additionally, freshman Emma Malewski made her bars debut, posting a 9.675 in her first appearance. 

Vault: 48.975

Tara Walsh highlighted the rotation in the anchor spot with a season-best 9.900, which tied for the fifth-best mark in program history. Maggie Holman had a 9.800 in the second spot, and Madison Minner (9.775), Ella Cesario (9.775) and Brie Clark (9.725) to round out the scoring. For Cesario, it was her first appearance on vault in 2026. 

Floor: 49.100

Brie Clark’s 9.925 in the anchor spot gave her the event title for the third time in as many meets and 15th time in her Clemson career, and was the 12th 9.925 or higher of her career. Walsh (9.875) also tied her career best on floor in the fifth spot. Lilly Lippeatt (9.800), Even Jackson (9.775) and Madison Minner (9.725) also counted toward the team’s 49.100. 

Beam: 48.675

All five counting scores were at 9.700 or above, led by Brie Clark, whose 9.800 tied her for the event win. Lippeatt (9.750), Kuhl (9.725), Walsh (9.700) and Cesario (9.700) each posted counting scores as well.
