Clemson Hosts ACC Rowing Championships on Friday and Saturday

CLEMSON, S.C. – The No. 22 Clemson Rowing program will set to host the ACC Rowing Championships on Lake Hartwell for the first time since 2022 on Friday, May 16 and Saturday, May 17 for the last scheduled regatta of the 2024-25 season. Notable ranked teams in the field include No. 1 Stanford, No. 9 California, No. 11 Syracuse, No. 13 Virginia, No. 18 Duke and No. 24 North Carolina.

Last time out, the Clemson Rowing program put on its best performance under Head Coach Adrienne Martelli in the Lake Wheeler Invitational, winning the Carolina Cup and finished fourth overall out an 18-team field in the Lake Wheeler Invitational. Over the weekend, the Tigers amassed 67 total points and finished above No. 24 North Carolina and fellow ACC rivals Miami, Louisville and Boston College. Thanks to these efforts, the Tigers earned a place in the CRCA Pocock poll for the first time in over a decade in just the first year under Martelli.

Clemson will begin racing at 8:05 on Friday morning with the 3V8 in the first heat in lane three with the V8 racing at 8:40 in the second heat in the third lane. The 2V8 will race at 9:05 in the second heat in the third lane while the V4 will race at 9:20 in the first heat in lane three. The 2V4 will finish the Friday portion of the races at 9:55 in heat two, lane three. Times for Saturday’s finals will be communicated on Clemson Rowing social media following the conclusion of Friday’s affairs.
