Clemson Earns Seventh in ACC Championships

CLEMSON, S.C. – The No. 22 Clemson Women’s Rowing team finished seventh in the 2025 ACC Championship, which took place on Lake Hartwell in Clemson, S.C. Two Clemson boats, the V4 and the V8 competed in Grand Finals, and helped the Tigers accrue 67 points, only one point behind No. 24 North Carolina. Clemson finished ahead of Notre Dame, SMU, Louisville, Miami and Boston College.

On the first day of racing, the Tigers grabbed two Grand Final spots with their two third place finishes. The V8 boat clocked a time of 6:28.339, placing them third in the heat just behind talented No. 9 California and No. 11 Syracuse squads, and the V4 boat beat out No. 13 Virginia, Notre Dame and Boston College with a time of 7:17.992, just behind No. 18 Duke and No. 1 Stanford. The 3V8 boat finished fifth in with a time of 7:03.300, blowing past Louisville by 14 seconds. The 2V8 followed this up with a fourth place finish and a 6:39.532, beating out both Louisville and Miami by four seconds and nine seconds, respectively. The last boat of the day, the 2V4, finished fourth in the heat with a time of 7:40.673.

In the final day of competition, the 3V8 grabbed a third place finish with a time of 6:47.045, ahead of Miami, Louisville and Boston College. The 2V4 finished first in the petite final and seventh overall, with a time of 7:25.354. The V4 boat finished sixth overall, grabbing 14 points for the Tigers with a time of 7:18.074.The 2V8 finished second in the heat, clocking a time of 6:31.234, which was just 0.797 seconds behind Notre Dame. In the final race of the day, the V8 Grand Final, the Tigers placed sixth with a time of 6:23.657, which added 28 points to Clemson’s tally.
