Yannick Maden Falls in NCAA Singles Tournament

URBANA, IL – Clemson men’s tennis player Yannick Maden lost to #3 Jarmere Jenkins of Virginia 6-3, 6-4 in the second round of the NCAA Men’s Singles Tournament at Urbana, IL Thursday afternoon.Maden is ranked 26th nationally and ends his singles season with a 26-9 record.  Jenkins is ranked third nationally and played number-one singles for the Cavaliers, who won the NCAA Team National Championship on Tuesday.  Jenkins is seeded third in the singles tournament. Maden is the first Clemson entry in the NCAA Singles Tournament since 2006. Clemson’s doubles entry of Yannick and Dominique Maden will play its first match later this evening when the Tiger duo meets Jarryd Botha and David Vieyra of Alabama.  The Alabama team is seeded 5-8 in the tournament and is ranked seventh nationally. The Maden brothers are ranked 11th nationally.
