CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson Women’s Soccer team (12-6-1) hosts Alabama (10-9-1) at Historic Riggs Field for a Friday afternoon match for the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The match is set to kick off at 4:00 p.m. and slated to stream live with details on ClemsonTigers.com.
The Tigers and the Crimson Tide have only met twice in the history of both programs with Clemson leading the series 2-0. Both teams most recently met in 2020 when Clemson claimed a 1-0 victory in overtime. The Crimson Tide comes into the match with a 10-9-1 overall record and a 5-4-1 SEC record. They are led by Ashylnn Serepca with 13 points and Kate Henderson with 12 points.
Megan Bornkamp leads the team with 30 points, as she has netted 10 goals and added 10 assists on the season, followed by Makenna Morris with 21 points and Renee Lyles with 19 points. Renee Guion has tallied 13 assists, which is tied for the school record for a single season. Nine Tigers have at least six points on the season.
The Tigers are 12-17-12 in the NCAA Tournament all-time, advancing in eight of the 12 draws. Last season, Clemson advanced to its fifth Elite Eight after defeating No. 3 UCLA in the Round of 16.
