Women’s Tennis Remains At #15 In Latest Fila/ITA Tennis Poll

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson women’s tennis team (16-7, 8-3 ACC) remained at the #15 spot in the most recent Fila/ITA Tennis rankings. The Tigers now await the NCAA Tournament selections and regional pairings, to be announced on May 3. ESPNEWS will air the NCAA Division I Selection Show at 8:30 PM, Eastern Time, on Wednesday night.

In the individual polls, three Clemson student-athletes were ranked, with freshman Federica van Adrichem leading the way at #56. She has compiled a 21-13 overall record with a 12-9 mark in dual matches. Carol Salge, a sophomore from San Roque, Brazil, is ranked 62nd in the singles poll after boasting an overall record of 24-9, including a 17-6 ledger in the spring season. Senior Daniela Alvarez reentered the poll this week at #119. The native of Santa Cruz, Bolivia had been ranked 119th in the March 7 poll as well and has posted a 17-15 overall mark this year.

Salge and van Adrichem were also listed in the doubles rankings at #19. Clemson’s top team has recorded a 12-8 ledger, all at the flight one position. The duo defeated five ranked teams during the regular season and five of their eight losses have come against teams currently listed in the top 10.
