Women’s Tennis Nationally Ranked

Dec. 12, 2000

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson women’s tennis team is tied for 27th in the latest rankings released today by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. Clemson enjoyed a turn-around season last year under fourth-year head coach Nancy Harris as they reversed their 1998-99 season record of 6-15 and recorded a 15-7 mark during their 1999-2000 campaign. The Tigers were 6-2 and finished third in the ACC, advanced to the NCAA Tournament and earned a final 2000 season ranking of 28. Clemson returns seven of nine letterwinners from last year’s squad, including five starters.

The Tigers will open their 2001 slate on Saturday, January 20 at the Hoke Sloan Tennis Center in Clemson, SC, against UNC-Greensboro at 11:00 a.m.
