Women’s Soccer Hosts Wake Forest Saturday Night

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson Women’s Soccer team will play host to Wake Forest in the NCAA Women’s Soccer Tournament’s Round of 16 Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. at Clemson’s Historic Riggs Field.

Clemson defeated Marquette Saturday night 1-0 in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Julie Augustyniak scored the winning goal in the 89th minute of play. Clemson is now 16-7-2 overall this season. The Lady Tigers are ranked eighth in the NSCAA poll and ninth in the Soccer America listing.

Wake Forest will enter the match with a 16-6 record overall. The Deacons are led in scoring by Joline Charlton with 10 goals and seven assists for 27 points. Anne Schropshire has seven goals and six assists for 20 points. The Deacons are ranked 11th in the Soccer America poll and 15th in the NSCAA poll.
