WILMINGTON, NC – The Clemson Women’s Golf team wrapped up competition in the Landfall Tradition Sunday with a third place finish. The tournament, held in Wilmington, North Carolina at the Country Club of Landfall, featured 10 teams ranked in the Golfweek Top 25.
On Sunday, J.T. Horton‘s young team shot 11 over par 299 on the par 72 Pete Dye Course, bringing their three-day tournament total to 897. Clemson shot 307 on Friday and 291 on Saturday.
Alabama won the tournament. Their three-day total of 867 bested second place Duke by eight strokes. South Carolina finished fourth and Wake Forest finished fifth.
Ashlan Ramsey shot a six over par 78 on Sunday and finished tied for eighth place individually with a three -day total of 221. Her second round 69 was one of just three rounds in the 60s by all the players combined over the weekend. She finished in the top 10 of all four fall tournaments. She came in second in the Cougar Classic and won the Lady Paladin Invitational and the Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational.
Sloan Shanahan finished tied for 11th this weekend. She shot a 75 on Sunday to bring her three-day total to 222. McKenzie Talbert shot the team’s second best round of the tournament on Sunday with a round of 70. She finished tied for 13th with a three-day total of 223. Jessica Hoang and Lauren Salazar both shot rounds of 77 on Sunday, contributing to the Tigers third place finish. Taylor Ramsey, competing as an individual, shot 87 on Sunday to bring her three day total to 255.
This was the final fall tournament for the Tigers. With this third place finish, the all freshmen team finished in the top five in all four fall tournaments. The team will be back in action February 14-16 when they will take part in the Seminole Match Up in Tallahassee, Florida.
