AUBURN, Ala.–The Clemson women’s diving team registered a slew of top thirty scores at the NCAA Zone Diving Championships at the James E. Martin Aquatics Center this week. The event, which lasted from Monday until Wednesday, showcased five Tiger divers, including two seniors competing for the final time.
“I am proud of the Lady Tiger divers and their competitiveness throughout the three days of competition,” Diving Coach Leslie Hasselbachsaid. “Individually, we have been working on the mental aspect of their performances and we have made excellent strides.
“I am proud of our two seniors, Brooke George and Cassie Self, for leading this team over the past four years. They have left their marks, and now it’s up to the underclassmen to continue to move our program forward and upward.”
Three Clemson divers competed in three events. Brooke George finished 19th in the platform, 22nd in the one-meter, and 24th in the three-meter. Cassie Self was 21st in the platform, 28th in the one-meter, and 30th in the three-meter. Emily Howardcame in 23rd in the platform, 26th in the three-meter, and 29th in the one-meter.
Two other Tigers participated in two events during the meet. Chelsea Uranaka finished 33rd in the one-meter and the three-meter. Elizabeth Tatum placed 34th in the one-meter and 35th in the three-meter.
