HARTFORD, CT – The Clemson women’s basketball team will face Kentucky Friday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in the consolation game of the Coaches vs. Cancer Challenge in Hartford, CT.
Number-one ranked Connecticut held off Kentucky in the second game of the tournament 68-62. The Wildcats are now 2-1 on the season and are unranked.
Clemson is also 2-1 on the year after losing to 15th ranked Old Dominion 68-57 in the first game of the tournament on Wednesday.
Clemson is led in scoring by Nuria Forns with a 11.7 ppg. average. Datishella Byrd leads the squad in rebounding with a 7.3 rpg. mark.
Kentucky is led in scoring by Laura Meadows with a 16.7 ppg. average. Meadows also leads the Wildcats in rebounding with a 9.0 rpg. mark.
This will be the first meeting between Clemson and Kentucky in women’s basketball. Connecticut and Old Dominion will meet in the Championship game of the Coaches vs. Cancer Challenge at 4:00 p.m.on ESPN2.
