WILLIAMSBURG, VA – Marwan Ramadan defeated Clemson’s Carlos Alvarez at number-two singles 6-3, 6-3 in clinching the match and leading 63rd-ranked William and Mary to a 4-3 win over 60th-ranked Clemson in a men’s intercollegiate tennis match at Williamsburg, VA late Saturday night.
With the win, the Tribe claimed the Championship of the William and Mary Men’s Tennis Indoor Tournament at the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center.
William and Mary improves to 9-2 this season, the best start for the Tribe since the 1997 season. Clemson falls to 2-2 this season.
Clemson will play Central Florida at Miami, FL on Friday, February 7, in the Tigers’ next action. The Tigers will open ACC play on Saturday with a match at Miami. After the two matches this weekend, the Tigers will begin an eight-match home stand.
