CLEMSON, SC – More than 300 fans were on hand on a rainy Saturday afternoon to watch the Clemson volleyball team scrimmage for just over an hour. Although there are many new faces, the action level stayed high as White won the deciding third set, 15-13, rallying form a 13-10 deficit, to win.

“I was pleased with how we competed today,” said Jolene Jordan Hoover. “We have a young team, but they play with a lot of intensity. We are very happy that so many fans came out to watch us play on a rainy afternoon. We are itching to get started with the regular season next week on Friday.”

Sophomore Serenat Yaz led all players with 13 kills, while also registering eight digs and four total blocks. Freshman Moneshia “Mo” Simmons had 12 kills and eight digs, converting several impressive athletic plays.

Sophomore Natalie Patzin had ten kills with no errors in 37 chances for a .270 hitting mark.

Redshirt Sophomore Lacy Hayes had 22 total assists to go along with five digs and three blocks on one side, while freshman Hannah Brenner had a solid showing, racking up 24 assists, eight kills, and four digs.
