Clemson women’s basketball returns to Littlejohn as the Tigers are set to take part in the ACC/Big 10 Challenge on Wednesday, Nov. 28. Tipoff between Clemson and Illinois is slated for 7 p.m. with the game airing on ACC Network Extra. The game can also be heard on Clemson Tigers Network.
The Tigers are set to participate in the 12th annual ACC/Big 10 Challenge on Wednesday. This will be the seventh time that Clemson has been a part of the Challenge and the Tigers have posted a 3-4 overall record with wins over Northwestern (twice) and Nebraska. The Atlantic Coast Conference holds the all-time edge in the series with a 81-55 record in the Challenge, including a 10-4 mark a season ago.
Clemson closed out the Junkanoo Jam with a victory, defeating Oklahoma 74-62 for third place in the Junkanoo division of the Jam. Senior Danielle Edwards posted her second consecutive game in double-digits, leading all scorers with 24 points. Kobi Thornton joined Edwards in double-figures, totaling 18 points and 10 rebounds to record her second double-double of the season.
Illinois enters the ACC/Big 10 Challenge with a 4-1 record, most recently falling to Sacramento State in a high-scoring affair. Senior Alex Wittinger totaled a career-high 32 points for the Fighting Illini, but the team came up short, 107-19, against Sacramento State. Four Illinois players are posting double-digit outings this season, led by Wittinger who is averaging 16.6 points per game.
