Volleyball to Play Maryland and Virginia

CLEMSON, S.C. — The Clemson volleyball team travels to ACC rivals Maryland and Virginia this weekend. The Tigers play the Cavaliers Friday evening at 8:00 p.m. and the Terrapins on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. This will be the final road trip for the Tigers for the 2000 regular season. Clemson has three ACC home matches next week before heading to the ACC Tournament Nov. 16-19.

The Cavaliers are 13-12 overall and 6-6 in league play and hold a 7-3 advantage at home this season. UVA has won four of their last five matches, with their only recent loss a five game battle with Florida State. Clemson is looking to avenge a 3-1 loss to the Cavaliers on Sept. 30 at Jervey Gym. The Tigers hold a 24-7 advantage in the all-time series.

The Maryland Terrapins are 13-11 overall and 4-8 in the ACC. Maryland has lost their last three matches, falling in three games to North Carolina, Virginia, and Florida State. Clemson defeated the Terrapins 3-0 on Sept. 29 at Jervey Gym. The Tigers are 21-18 all-time against Maryland.

Jodi Steffes leads the Tigers in total kills (363) with a 4.32 kills per game average. Meredith Kirtland is Clemson’s leader in digs with 283 while Steffes leads in digs per game (3.20). Jessi Betcher is the assist leader with 995 assists this season (11.57 assists per game). Betcher also leads the team in aces per game with a 0.30 per game average (26 total). Jackie Dalleska has a team-best 62 blocks with a 0.85 blocks per game average.
