Volleyball Sets Fall GPA Record

CLEMSON, S.C. – With grades in for the Fall of 2016, the volleyball program recorded the best GPA of any Clemson team last semester. Its 3.35 GPA shatters a record that stood for 13 years as the volleyball program logged a 3.19 GPA in the Fall of 2003. 65% of the team (11 student-athletes) earned a 3.00 or better for the term.

“I can’t express enough how proud our staff is of this group for their work in the classroom,” said head coach Hugh Hernesman. “In our last two semesters, we have set two academic program bests. Our student-athletes deserve so much credit for the work they’ve put in. It takes a high level of dedication and discipline to do what this group has done over the last 12 months. The discipline they are learning will carry over onto the floor and positively impact their lives after they leave Clemson.”

“I’d also like to recognize the effort put forth from our academic staff over at Vickery Hall. Lindsey Ricketts does a fantastic job with our student-athletes and the amount of resources our administration commits to them goes a very long way in helping them achieve their full academic potential.”

The record is volleyball’s second-straight semester recording a GPA record as it set a Spring GPA record in 2016 with a 3.38.
