Volleyball Set For Spring Matchup With Wake Forest

CLEMSON, S.C. – On Tuesday night Clemson volleyball fans in the Charlotte, North Carolina area will have the opportunity to watch the Tigers compete in their second spring scrimmage of the year. After defeating Georgia, 3-1, two weeks ago, Clemson will take on ACC opponent, Wake Forest at the Carolina Union Volleyball Club.

The Tigers dropped a five-set thriller (31-33, 21-25, 25-23, 25-22, 14-16) to Wake Forest last season in their lone contest of the season. Clemson out-killed the Demon Deacons, 70-64 and out-blocked them, 10-7 in a match that consisted of 43 tie scores and 18 lead changes

Leah Perri and Kailey Harvell led the offense on the pins combining for 30 kills. 21 were credited to Perri along with her 14 digs, leaving Harvell responsible for the other nine. Harvell fueled the comback attempt with all nine kills coming in the final three sets. She recorded just one error on 20 swings, giving her a .400 hitting percentage. Sydney Moseley also added eight kills and 10 digs.

Megan McGinley had one of her best matches of the season, generating 16 kills on 32 attempts with just five errors and a .344 hitting percentage. She also recorded five blocks in the match, four of which were block assists.

On defense, Kennedy Wilson-Talmadge’s athleticism was on display alongside Keelie Arneson in the back row. The two combined for 35 digs and 15 of which came from Wilson-Talmadge. Together they were two-of-five Tigers to finish with 10 digs or more.
