Volleyball Drops 3-2 Decision To Wake Forest

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Clemson volleyball team dropped a 3-2 decision to Wake Forest Saturday night in Reynolds Gymnasium. The Demon Deacons improve to 14-4 overall and 4-2 in the ACC, while the Tigers fall to 12-9 overall and 2-4 in league play.

Wake Forest took game one by a score of 30-26. Clemson rebounded and won game two 30-25, but dropped a 27-30 decision in game three to the Demon Deacons. The Tigers captured game four 30-24, and Wake Forest won game five 15-8 to win the match.

Clemson had three players in double-digit kills with Leslie Finn leading the way with 27 kills and nine digs, two service aces and two blocks (one solo). Liz Beckham tallied 19 kills with 17 digs and one block solo, while Lori Ashton added 12 kills with two blocks (one solo). Lindsey Abbott led the team in digs with 26, while Meghan Stanton recorded 13 digs. Stephanie Haskell handed out 54 assists with 10 digs and two kills, and Carly Hill served up three aces.

The Tigers will return to action Tuesday, Oct. 14, as they play host to fifth-ranked Georgia Tech. The match is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. All home matches in Jervey Gym are free to the public.
