CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson diving team kicks off their 2016-2017 campaign on Friday at 5:30 p.m. when it hosts its fifth annual Diving Exhibition at McHugh Natatorium. The event is free and open to the public.
The exhibition serves as a time for divers to demonstrate various talents. During the event, divers will walk the audience through the basics of competitive diving in addition to showcasing some of their more advanced dives in preparation for the upcoming season. The Tigers will also participate in an entertaining segment highlighted by synchronized diving and daring dives from both the springboards and platforms.
The 13-diver roster features 10 returners from last season, including decorated seniors Danielle Reitsma and Sarah Braun, juniors Allison Brophy, Hannah Donovan and Megan Jendra, and sophomores Sarah Blank, Jaya Brown, Morgan Fiske, Caylin Hirapara and Erin Lee. Freshmen Megan Hays, Freida Lim and Hannah Phelan round out the 2016-2017 Tigers, comprising one of the most experienced rosters that coach Leslie Hasselbach Adams has worked with.
The Tigers will travel to Wilmington, N.C. to face the UNC Wilmington Seahawks for their first official meet of the season on Friday, Oct. 21. This Friday’s exhibition is one of three opportunities to see the Tigers at home this season, as they will host West Florida on Friday, Oct. 29 and Arkansas and Houston on Jan. 20-21, 2017.
