The Clemson women’s golf team was named as the 30th ranked team in the country according to the Bushnell Golfweek Preseason Poll.
Coming into the 2019-20 campaign the Tigers will return all but one player while adding highly decorated freshman, Savannah Grewal. Despite Alice Hewson’s graduation leaving a hole in the upcoming lineup, rising senior Ana Paula Valdes will be depended on early as she posted the second-best stroke average on the team last season.
Head coach Kelley Hester and company recorded four top-5 finishes in 2018-19 but look to grow on last season’s success with a familiar schedule.
With lone Valdes set to make a noticeable impact in the new season, sophomore Ivy Shepherd will bring more depth to the roster after recording the team’s lowest round (-7) at last year’s Clemson Invitational and third-best stroke average on the team.
