Tigers in the Pros: April 29-May 5

The Tigers’ presence was felt around the nation this week as eight former #ClemsonUnited players saw professional action over the weekend.

Major League Soccer (MLS)

Tommy McNamara (’13) subbed on in the 73rd minute of the Houston Dynamo’s 2-1 victory over FC Dallas on May 4.

Joe Bendik (Columbus Crew SC), Diego Campos (Chicago Fire) and Andrew Tarbell (San Jose Earthquakes) both served as reserve options over the weekend.

United Soccer League (USL)

Patrick Bunk-Andersen (’18) started on the backline for Toronto FC II, totaling 90 minutes of action in the club’s 3-1 loss to Forward Madison FC on May 4.

Paul Clowes (’15) started for Greenville in the club’s 1-0 loss to North Texas SC. The 2015 Clemson graduate played 87 minutes at midfield.

Amadou Dia (’14) started and played a full 90 minutes in Phoenix Rising FC’s 2-1 loss to Orange County SC on May 4.

Kyle Fisher (’15) started in Birmingham Legion FC’s second contest of the week, helping the Legion to a 2-2 draw against Memphis 901 FC on May 4.

Phanuel Kavita (‘14) started his eighth game of the season for Saint Louis FC, playing all 90 minutes in the team’s 3-1 win over the Swope Park Rangers on April 27.

Jack Metcalf (’13) started in Atlanta United 2’s 2-1 loss to Nashville SC, playing all 90 minutes for Atlanta on May 4.

Cody Mizell (’12) totaled three saves on three shots faced in New Mexico United’s 3-0 victory over San Antonio FC on May 5 for his second clean sheet of the season.

Kyle Murphy (’15) posted a pair of goals in Loudoun United FC’s 3-3 draw with Bethlehem Steel FC on May 1, marking his first two-goal outing of the season.
