Clemson, S.C. – The No. 40 Clemson women’s golf team wrapped up the first day of competition at the FSU Match-Up in Panama City Beach, Fla., finishing the 36-hole day in fourth place. Clemson sits behind Alabama, host Florida State and match-up partner LSU on the leaderboard following rounds of 304-310 for a 614 team score.
Ivy Shepherd led the Tigers through Saturday’s round, going seven-over par on the afternoon while securing a spot in the top-10 of the individual leaderboard. Senior Ana Paula Valdes and Lindsay May followed the sophomore close behind as they ranked among the top-25 across the field following 10-over par efforts.
Callista Rice added to the team scoring as she closed out the two rounds in a tie for 27th place after scores of 78 and 79, respectively.
Across the tournament, May remains in a tie for second for scoring on par threes, going even on the afternoon, while Shepherd leads the field for par four scoring. As a team, Clemson ranks in the top three slots for total birdies, dropping 21 through 36 holes.
