Clemson, S.C. – No. 9 Clemson (7-0-1) is prepared to host No. 6 Florida State (7-2-0) in a Thursday night battle at Historic Riggs Field. The first kick is set for 7:30 p.m.
Last season the Tigers traveled to Tallahassee where they upset the 10th-ranked Seminoles in enemy territory. Last year’s win over the Seminoles was Clemson’s first since Nov. 18, 2001, when they won 1-0 in an NCAA Tournament Second Round Match at Historic Riggs Field. It also marked the Tigers’ first win in Tallahassee since a 3-2 victory on Sept. 10, 2000, and only the third win in Tallahassee in program history.
Entering Thursday’s match, the Tigers rank second in the nation in RPI behind the Seminoles while also placing in the top-5 for total assists by an individual (Guion, 1st), save percentage (.931, 2nd), goals against average (.243, 3rd) and sitting on the bubble for won-lost-tied percentage (.938, 6th).
