CLEMSON, S.C. — The Clemson women’s soccer team will host its first opponent of the 2018 season in a exhibition match against Auburn. Kickoff at Historic Riggs Field is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 8 at 6 p.m.
Clemson is coming off a 2017 season in which they finished 10-5-4 overall and advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament for the third consecutive year. The Tigers are returning nine starters from last season. This year’s roster consists of 25 players, including five seniors, six juniors, eight sophomores and six freshmen.
Wednesday’s match will mark the team’s 10th meeting against Auburn all-time. Clemson improved to a 7-1-1 record in the series with a double overtime win last season.
Following Wednesday’s match, Clemson will close out the preseason with an exhibition against Furman at Historic Riggs on Saturday, Aug. 11 at 7 p.m. The Tigers open the regular season on Friday, Aug. 17 on the road against Oregon State.
