Tigers Head to Lexington for Rod McCravy Memorial

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson track & field team is set to travel the the University of Kentucky’s Rod McCravy Memorial Saturday, Feb. 3. The one-day meet features Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Purdue and Virginia Tech. Five field events kick off Saturday’s action at 10 a.m., while the first track event begins at 12:15 p.m., with the men’s 60m hurdles. Saturday’s meet will stream on SEC Network + at noon.

The Tigers are coming off an impressive performance from the Bob Pollock Invitational last weekend at the Clemson Indoor Track & Field Facility. Jeremiah Green, who will compete in ­the 60m dash this weekend, posted the second-best mark (15.77m) in the triple jump. Kirk Lewis will look to top his personal best of 7.76 seconds in the 60m hurdles, which he at last weekend’s meet. Lewis currently holds the third-fastest time in the ACC and ranks No. 9 in the NCAA. Two-time ACC Track Performer of the Week John Lewis will compete in the 800m run, and enters the Rod McCravy Memorial with the top seed time among all 15 competitors.

On the women’s side, Markeeta Thomas returns to the infield in the 60m hurdles after sitting out the event at the Bob Pollock Invitational. Thomas (8.35) posted the No. 7 time in the ACC at the Clemson Opener. Logan Morris will enter both the women’s mile and 800m run. The fres­hman (4:51.70) placed third in the mile at last weekend’s meet.

Entering this weekend’s meet, Clemson owns a combined six best times/marks in the ACC, and a combined four top-10 bests in the NCAA.
