CLEMSON, S.C. — The Tigers qualified for the grand final in all five events at the ACC Rowing Championship, and will race out of Lane 2 the entirety of Saturday morning on Lake Hartwell. Virginia won all five of its heats to take the top seeded position (Lane 6) for Saturday’s grand finals.
The First Varsity 8+ was the final prelim of the night for the Tigers. Clemson’s top boat raced to a time of 6:30.6, finishing third in its heat behind the Cavaliers and Louisville. The 2V8 crossed the finish line in 6:34.4, also behind the Cavs and Cardinals. The 3V8, the first boat to race Friday afternoon, came across the finish line with a time of 6:56.7.
Both 4+ boats were third place in their respective heats Friday. Clemson’s First Varsity 4+ finished with a time of 7:21.5, while the 2V4 posted a finish of 7:32.0.
The final day of racing action starts Saturday with the 3V8 petite final at 8:05 a.m.
