Clemson Notes:

  • The Tigers are 8-7 on the season and 6-4 in ACC play, and are ranked 31st in the nation according to the ITA poll released on April 5.
  • Clemson is coming off a 7-0 loss to #7 Miami on April 2 in Clemson, S.C. Against the Hurricanes, Tristen Dewar and Ally Miller-Krasilnikov won their match at No. 2 doubles, and Ayan Broomfield and Fernanda Navarro played well against the nation’s fifth- and sixth-ranked singles players in Miami’s Stephanie Wagner and Sinead Lohan at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively.
  • Broomfield is 9-6 in dual matches this season, and 6-4 in ACC play, and is currently ranked 73rd in the ITA singles poll.
  • Clemson’s No. 3 doubles team of senior Joana Eidukonyte and sophomore Daniela Ruiz is 9-2 on the season, and 7-2 in ACC doubles matches.

Notre Dame Notes:

  • Notre Dame is 10-9 overall and 4-6 in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
  • Most recently, the Irish defeated Florida State 4-3 in Notre Dame, Ind. on April 1, before falling to Duke 4-1 in Durham, N.C. on April 3.
  • Two Irish singles players are ranked in the top 100, led by Quinn Gleason at 64th. Gleason has a 9-8 record at No. 1 singles this spring.
  • Notre Dame has an 8-4 all-time advantage in the series against the Tigers, in which the first match was played in 1992. Clemson has a 2-0 record against the Irish since Notre Dame joined the ACC two years ago.
  • In last season’s meeting between the two teams, the Tigers won a 5-0 decision in Clemson on April 17, 2015. Joana Eidukonyte and Tristen Dewar won their singles matches at No. 3 and No. 4, respectively, in that contest.

  • The Panthers are coming off of a 4-3 loss to Boston College on April 1 in Chestnut Hill, Mass. and a 5-2 loss to NC State on April 3 in Pittsburgh.
  • Clemson has a 2-0 lead in the series against Pittsburgh. The Tigers swept the Panthers 7-0 in both previous meetings, including last season in Clemson on April 3. Eidukonyte and Daniela Ruiz picked up wins at No. 2 and No. 5 singles in the victory.
