Tigers Face LSU in ITA Kick-Off Friday in Tallahassee

  • The Clemson women’s tennis faces LSU on Friday, Jan. 25 at 1 p.m. in the first round of the ITA Kick-Off Weekend in Tallahassee, Fla. On Saturday, Jan. 26, the winner of the Clemson-LSU match will face the winner of the Florida State-Tennessee match in the ITA Kick-Off second round, while the two teams that fail to advance will square off in a consolation match.
  • The Tigers opened the 2019 season at 4-0, with wins over Charleston Southern, Charlotte, College of Charleston and Presbyterian College last weekend in the Duckworth Family Tennis Facility. It was a successful opening weekend for the program’s brand new, state-of-the-art facility, which opened its doors in November of 2018.
  • Marie-Alexandre Leduc, Fernanda Navarro and Tate Schroeder are all 3-0 in singles play to open the spring season, while Sydney Riley is 2-0 on the young season.
  • Leduc and Navarro, the nation’s third ranked doubles duo, went 4-0 at No. 1 doubles last weekend. The pair is coming off winning the National Championship at the 2018 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships. It was the first doubles National Title won at the event, considered one of the four grand slams of college tennis, in Clemson women’s tennis program history.
  • Head Coach Nancy Harris is in her 22nd season as the leader of the Clemson program. She has taken the Tigers to the NCAA Tournament 19 times in her first 21 seasons, including 17-consecutive years from 2002-18. She has a 352-202 record as the head coach at Clemson and a 550-249 career record as a head coach.
