After clinching its second round berth against Vanderbilt, the Clemson women’s soccer team is set to face two-seeded UCLA on Nov. 22 at Wallis Annenberg Stadium in Los Angeles, Calif. The Tigers and Bruins will kick off at 8pm PT (11pm ET), following the 5pm match between three-seeded Wisconsin and Duke. The winners of the second round games will face each other in the third round on Nov. 24. Complimentary live streaming of all second round matches is available through the PAC-12 site with live stats accessible through NCAA.com.
Sandy MacIver paved the way through the Commodores in the first round after a stellar performance in net, highlighted by a game-clinching save in penalties. MacIver went on to tally six saves across 110 minutes of action. However, one of the brightest spots of Clemson’s play came from the back line as they held Vanderbilt below their shots per game average while simultaneously holding the Commodores without a goal.
Switching gears to the second round, Clemson looks to build off their recent success as they look to knock of the two-seeded Bruins. The matchup will be Clemson’s fourth time in five years to advance to at least the second round of the NCAA Tournament with their most recent Round of 32 action coming in 2017 against Texas. The second-seeded and seventh-ranked UCLA (15-4-1) are coming off a 4-1 win over Lamar in the first round. They found the back of the net three times in the first half while also recording 33 shots with 21 landing on goal.
