Tiger Tennis Ranked 13th In The Nation

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson women’s tennis squad is ranked #13 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association poll released on Tuesday, Apr. 5. The team is 14-6 overall and has recorded a 5-1 mark in the ACC. The Tigers have won their last nine matches, with all nine victories coming against ranked opponents.

Julie Coin earned the #2 position in the ITA singles rankings for the third consecutive poll. She has compiled a 28-2 overall record and boasts a 19-0 mark in dual play. The senior from Amiens, France is riding a 19-match winning streak in which she has not lost a set. Coin is also 19-0 when facing a ranked opponent and has posted two-set victories over players listed at #7, #9, #10, #14 and #20. She will face #1 Megan Bradley on Saturday as Clemson hosts the Miami Hurricanes at the Hoke Sloan Tennis Center.

Freshman Romy Farah moved up eight places in this week’s poll to #80. She has won eight of her last 10 matches and is 19-10 during the 2004-05 season. The Cali, Colombia native has a 12-8 record in dual matches and is 6-0 in the ACC.

Farah and Coin are listed 22nd in the doubles poll, jumping 14 slots from their #36 ranking on Mar. 22. The duo has won 10 straight matches and has compiled a 16-3 overall record for the season. They are undefeated at flight one doubles with a 5-0 mark in ACC action. Coin is also ranked #53 with senior Alix Lacelarie. As a team, Coin and Lacelarie are 6-1 overall and 3-0 in dual matches.
