CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will travel to Columbia, SC on Friday evening to take on South Carolina. The meet will be held in the Carolina Natatorium and is scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m.
The Tiger men’s team defeated College of Charleston last weekend by a score of 126-73 to improve to 3-0 overall. Against the Cougars, Clemson was led by Buddy Reed, who placed first in the 100 back and the 200 IM.
The Clemson women’s team took a 119-76 victory over the Cougars last Friday before falling to California by a score of 171-107 on Saturday. The Tigers hold a 2-2 record in dual meets this season. Against College of Charleston, the Clemson women were led by Jenna Burtch, who won the 50 and 500 free, and was a member of the winning 200 medley relay team. Mandy Commons led the Tigers against the Bears with a first-place finish in the 100 breast.
South Carolina’s men’s team is 2-1 overall, most recently defeating Kentucky by a score of 125-118. The Gamecock women downed the Wildcats, 163.5-78.5 last weekend to improve to 2-1 on the season.
