Tiger Invitational Conduct Sheet

TIGER INVITATIONAL TRACK & FIELD MEET FEBRUARY 14, 2004 INDOOR TRACK & FIELD COMPLEX

Facility: The new Clemson Indoor Track & Field Complex has a 200 meter flat Mondo Super-X Performance surface with a 73 foot radius, Six 44 inch wide lanes on the oval, eight 44 inch wide lanes on the straightaway, two long jump/triple jump runways and pits, two pole vault runways and landing pits, a separate throwing cage for shot put and weight throws, and has seating for 1,800 spectators. There is also an athletic training room, restrooms, and concession facilities. This facility features a second floor mezzanine for event operations and special activities.

Conduct of Meet

Meet Packets: Entry Fee: $275.00. Coaches may pick up their team packets in the Lobby of the Arena. Entries close on Monday, Feb. 9. Make checks payable to CUAD. Note: Entry fee is $275 regardless of how many athletes are entered.

Athlete Check-in: Each athlete must check in with the Clerk of the Course or the event official at least thirty (30) minutes prior to their event. If the athlete has not checked in by that time, they may be scratched from the event at that time.

Running events:

Each school is permitted three (3) entries per event and an “A”&”B” relay team. No “C” teams will be allowed. There will be preliminaries and finals in the 60m dash and 60m hurdles events. The preliminary races will be randomly drawn. Preferred lanes (Straightaway lanes): 4-5-3-6-2-7-1-8 Preferred lanes(Oval): 5-4-6-3-2-1.

All other running events will be run as finals in sections based on time. Heats will be seeded according to the submitted times on the entry forms. The fastest sections will be run first.

Field events:

High Jump: This event will be a one flight final using a Five-Alive concept. The athlete is eliminated after three (3)-missed attempts at any height. Opening height: Men: 6’5 Women: 5’2 Ľ”

Long Jump: Each athlete will be allowed three (3) attempts, with the first official mark measured. Thereafter, only jumps over 22’6 (Men) & 17’6 (Women) will be measured. Top nine to the finals.

Triple Jump: Each athlete will be allowed three (3) attempts, with the first official mark measured. Thereafter, only jumps over 46′ (Men) & 37′ (Women) will be measured. Top nine to the finals.

Pole Vault: This event will be a one flight final. The athlete is eliminated after three (3)-missed attempts at any height. Opening height: Men: 14’11 Women: 10’11 ľ”

Weight Throw: This event will be a one flight final. Each athlete will be allowed three (3) attempts, with the first official mark measured. Thereafter, only throws over 48′ (Men) & 42’8′ (Women) will be measured. Top nine to the finals.

Shot Put: Each athlete will be allowed three (3) attempts, with the first official mark measured. Thereafter, only throws over 48′ (Men) & 39’4 Ľ” (Women) will be measured. Top nine to the finals.

Implement Weigh-In: All shot put and weight implements must be weighed in just outside the throwing cage. No hard shell weights will be allowed.

Medical Facilities: The Arena is equipped with an Athletic Training Center inside the facility and will be available for use throughout the event.

Showers: There are no shower facilities available to teams following the meet. Please plan accordingly.

Spikes: Only 1/4-inch pyramids will be allowed. No exceptions!!!
