Tiger Fans Encouraged to Show Their Pride during Spirit Blitz Week

It’s a busy week for Clemson Athletics with eight athletic events scheduled at home from Tuesday, October 16 through Sunday, October 21, and Central Spirit has declared it Spirit Blitz Week.  The renewed tradition, which dates back to the 1980’s, is all about encouraging fans to showcase their Tiger Pride by wearing orange all week and attending athletic events.

Below is a schedule of events:

Tuesday, October 16Men’s Soccer vs. Gardner-Webb, 7:00 PM, Historic Riggs FieldMen’s Soccer hosts Fan Appreciation Day on Tuesday.  The first 100 fans will receive a free Clemson Soccer scarf.  One lucky fan will also have a chance to win $10,000 in the Kick 4 Cash promotion. Admission is $6 for adults and $4 for youth.

Wednesday, October 17Spirit Blitz Pep Rally, 8:00 PM, Amphitheatre Central Spirit will host a pep rally in the Amphitheatre on Wednesday.  The pep rally will feature speakers from football, basketball, volleyball and soccer.  Admission is free.

Thursday, October 18Women’s Soccer vs. Virginia Tech, 7:00 PM, Historic Riggs FieldWomen’s Soccer hosts Virginia Tech on Thursday.  Fans will have a chance to snag a t-shirt or a scarf when they are thrown out at halftime.  Admission is free.

Friday, October 19Volleyball vs. Miami, 6:00 PM, Jervey GymFriday night at Clemson Volleyball has been designated Youth Night.  All youth are encouraged to come out and support the Tigers as they take on the Hurricanes.  Admission is free.

Men’s Soccer vs. San Diego State, 6:00 PM, Historic Riggs FieldMen’s Soccer will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the 1987 National Championship by hosting San Diego State.  The Tigers beat the Aztecs in 1987 at Historic Riggs Field to win the national title. Admission to this game is free.

Rock the ‘John, 8:00 PM, Littlejohn ColiseumClemson Athletics will host the fifth annual Rock the ‘John event on Friday to kick off basketball season.  Doors open at 7:30 PM and fans are encouraged to arrive early as the first 500 fans will receive a free t-shirt. Fans will have chances to win prizes and learn more about the team and coaches in this exciting event.  Admission is free. For more information, visit this page on ClemsonTigers.com.

Saturday, October 20Football vs. Virginia Tech, 12:00 PM, Memorial StadiumFootball hosts Virginia Tech Saturday at noon.  The game has been designated as Military Appreciation Day and will highlight Clemson’s rich military heritage.  Tickets are still available online at ClemsonTigers.com or by calling 1-800-CLEMSON.

Sunday, October 21Volleyball vs. Florida State, 12:00 PM, Jervey GymOctober is breast cancer awareness month and Clemson volleyball is doing its part to help the cause with the Dig Pink match presented by Turner Graphics on October 21. Fans can help by attending the game and participating in the silent auction, purchasing a Dig Pink t-shirt for $10, or making a donation online at http://www.side-ut.org/application/ous/fundraising_page/2619. Women’s Soccer vs. NC State, 1:00 PM, Historic Riggs FieldWomen’s Soccer will honor seniors and alumni for their final home game of the season against NC State.  Seniors will be recognized pregame and alumni from the 2000 team will be honored at halftime for their ACC regular season championship title won that year. One lucky fan will also have a chance to win $10,000 in the Kick 4 Cash promotion. Admission is free.
