Tennis Player Carmina Giraldo Competes in National Indoor Tournament

DALLAS, TX – While the rest of the team was competing at Virginia Tech, Clemson sophomore Carmina Giraldo participated in the Rolex National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships, the third leg of the ITA Grand Slam, held in Dallas, TX. She entered the tournament with a 35th-place national ranking.

In the first round of the tournament, Giraldo defeated thirteenth-ranked Ivona Mihailova of Mississippi 5-7, 6-4, 7-5. On the second day of competition, #42 Kristina Kraszewski of Washington beat Giraldo 6-3, 6-2.
