April 25, 2005

GREENSBORO, NC – Clemson’s Taylor Harbin was named this week’s Atlantic Coast Conference Baseball Player of the Week, while Florida State’s Bryan Henry earned ACC Pitcher of the Week accolades.

Harbin, a freshman second baseman, went 5-for-5 with five runs scored, three home runs and eight RBIs on Saturday at NC State. He set a school record with 16 total bases in the game, as he also had a triple and single in the contest. The previous school record of 15 total bases stood for nearly 43 years. He also became the 11th Tiger in history to hit three homers in a game. The Travelers Rest, S.C., native, hit the three long balls on three-straight pitches, as his last two shots came on the first pitch of each at-bat. In five games during the week, he was 8-for-23 (.348) with seven runs scored, three home runs and 12 RBIs.
