CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson men and women’s swimming and diving teams will host nationally ranked Florida State on Saturday, January 16 in McHugh Natatorium at 11:00 a.m.
The Tigers are entering this meet 5-2 (0-2 ACC) on the men’s side and 8-2 (2-1 ACC) on the women’s side. Florida Sate is coming in with the men ranked 15th and the women 24th by CSCAA. The Seminole men are 3-2 (0-1 ACC) while the women are 6-2 (1-1 ACC).
The two teams met last season with the Seminoles taking the win for the men and the on the women’s side, the Tigers edged out the victory by two points in Tallahassee. They also meet earlier this season at the Georgia Tech Invitational where Florida State finished first out of eight teams and the Tigers finished third.
Some races to watch may include the men’s 50 freestyle as Clemson’s Thomas Recko, who is currently second in the ACC.
For the women, the 100 back will pit Tiger sophomore Kelli Kyle against Florida State’s Stephanie Sarandos. Kyle currently ranks fourth and Sarandos is fifth in the ACC. Clemson’s Maddie Tarantolo will look to continue her strong performances Saturday, as she is currently ranked fifth in the 50 free and seventh in the 100 fly in the ACC.
After Florida State, the Tigers will travel to Raleigh to face North Carolina State on Saturday, January 23 at 11:00 a.m.
