Overview: Starter each of the last three seasons, her junior season (2022-23)  was her top year and she was named to the All-ACC team for the first time….ranked in the top 125 in the nation, she finished 108th by Golfweek and 122nd by Golfstat… got her summer of 2023 off to a great start by finishing second at the Open Championship Amateur, the first Clemson golfer to reach the finals of that prestigious event…that performance jumped her from 123 to 90 in the World Amateur rankings, to 60th in the Amateur golf.com rankings…Pancake defeated Hannah Darling, Paul Schulz-Hanssen, Catherine Rao and Erin Pudos to get to the finals.….lost to Chiara Holder in the championship match….finished second at the  Western Open and reached Final 16 of US Amateur in summer of 2022…her 72.35 stroke average finished second on the Clemson team in 2022-23, but third in Clemson history… only Clemson golfer to win a tournament in 2022-23, she was co-medalist at the Clemson Invitational…still has a year left, but is moving up the ranks on Clemson career lists…her 73.86 career stroke average is eighth best in school history…her 13  career rounds in the 60s rank fourth….her 29 rounds at par or better rank fifth, her 231 birdies rank fifth, her six top 10 finishes rank tied for third…consistent player who has had her score count in 65 of 73 team rounds…has improved her stroke average from  75.19 as a freshman  to 74.92 as a sophomore to 72.35 as a junior… three-time All-ACC Academic team selection… third on team in stroke average her first two years and second as a junior…only freshman in the starting lineup for Clemson in 2020-21, she played in all seven tournaments in the COVID shortened season… tied Clemson single round record (at the time) as a freshman with a 65 in final round of Clover Cup on March 14, 2021 that remains her career best round…seventh in the nation among freshmen in subpar strokes per round with 3.38 figure…her father, Tony, is the lead professional at Crooked Stick Golf Club in Indianapolis, Indiana…. two-time winner of the Indiana Women’s Amateur (2019 and 2021)… finished fourth at the 2020 Indiana State Women’s Amateur so already has three top four finishes at that statewide event….ranked #10 in the nation, #2 in the class of 2020 among juniors by Golfweek.com coming out of high school…ranked as the number-one amateur in Indiana, #45 in the nation by Rolex AJGA, in summer of 2020….Rolex AJGA ranked Pancake 18th in the class of 2020… finished fourth at 2020 Dye Junior Invitational at Crooked Stick…qualified for 2019 US Amateur and 2019 Women’s Four Ball…played in LPGA event,  The Brickyard Crossing, in summer of 2019…shot 76-76 and missed the cut, but had an eagle on 16th hole from the fairway that was the #5 play of the day in ESPN Sportcenter.

In 2022-23: Played in 12 tournaments overall, 11 for the Clemson team and one as an individual…had a 72.35 stroke average, third best in Clemson history…has 12 rounds in the 60s this year, an all-time Clemson record…led the team with four top 10 finishes, fourth most in a season in Clemson history…had 15 under-par rounds, tied for second most in a season in Clemson history…co-medalist at the Clemson Invitational when she had a seven under-par 209…named ACC Golfer of the Month for March of 2023…had three consecutive top 5 finishes at one point, she was second at the Clover Cup with a 10 under par 206, tied for first at Clemson Invitational with a 211 and fourth at the ACC Tournament with a 209…had a second round 66 that was her top round of the year…her performance at the Clover Cup featured three rounds in the 60s, she then followed that with rounds in the 60s in her first two rounds of the Clemson Invitational….that gave her a Clemson record five consecutive rounds in the 60s….finished the NCAA regional in 17th place with a five-under-par 211…for her last five tournaments and 15 rounds she was 18-under-par and had a 70.8 stroke average…shot under par in 11 of her last 15 rounds…all four of her top 10s this year were in the spring, she also tied for sixth at the Reynolds Lake…had 100 birdies for the year, third on the team, and 97th in the nation…. she now has 231 career birdies…started the year with a 13th-place finish at the Cougar Classic, that was her best tournament of the fall…her 67 in the fall at the Cougar Classic was the only bogey free round of the year by a Clemson golfer…had 17 birdies at the Clover Cup, she had at least 12 birdies in four straight events at one point…has 73.16 stroke average in the first round and 72.43 in the final round of tournaments…had 3.12 average on par three holes, 4.06 on par fours (45th in the nation)  and 4.92 on par fives…her score counted 28 of 31 rounds for the team…Clemson’s best golfer in eight rounds and the best Tiger for three tournaments….has a 2-1 match play record this year, including 1-1 at the ACC Tournament…had a 3&1 win over Phoebe Brinker of Duke in the semifinals, lost to Amanda Sambach of Virginia 2&1 in the finals.

Summer of 2022:  Had terrific summer of 2022…finished third at the Texas Open, a professional tournament…finished second at the Western Amateur….the last qualifier in stroke play, she advanced to the championship match…defeated Sadie Engleman of Stanford, the top seed, 2&1…then defeated Casey Weidenfield of Auburn (5&4), Chloe Schiavone of Notre Dame ((5&3), and Brooke Bierman of Michigan State (3&1) before losing championship match to Taglao Jeeravivtaporn of Iowa State (2&1)…defeated three top 10 seeds to reach the finals…made the cut and finished 45th at the French Lick Charity Classic on the EPSON tour….the next week she reached the Sweet 16 of the United States Amateur in Oregon…first Clemson women’s golfer to reach the final 16 of the US Amateur….tied for 21st in stroke play qualifier with scores of 72-73…defeated Abbey Daniel of Mississippi State, 5&4 in first round, then downed Maddison Hinson-Tolchard of Oklahoma State, 4&3 in second round…lost in round of 16 to Catherine Rao of Princeton, 4+3.

In 2021-22:  Third on the Clemson team in stroke average with 74.92 figure…in the Clemson lineup for seven of the 10 tournaments and played in eight events overall…had 63 birdies to rank third on the team…had seven rounds at par or better…her score counted 19 of the 21 rounds she was in the Clemson lineup…had the best round of the day six times and was Clemson’s best player in three tournaments….had double figures in birdies in four tournaments…best round of the year was a 70 in final round at Clover Cup on March 13, that helped Clemson to the tournament championship…had strong 12th place at the Landfall Tradition with a one-under-par 215 score, she was Clemson’s top player at that event and had the best score of the day in all three rounds…had season best 12 birdies in that tournament…followed that with sixth-place at Tulane Classic that was also best among Clemson players….Tigers best player at Clemson Invitational with 15th place finish…did not play in ACC Tournament due to injury, then came back to NCAA Regional at Stillwater, Oklahoma and finished 41st…for the year, averaged 3.15 on par threes, 4.23 on par fours and 4.87 on par fives for the year….had #184 final national ranking by Golfstat and #213 by Golfweek.

Summer 2021:   Won her second Indiana Women’s Amateur with a 200 total for 54 holes…had rounds of 65-66-69 to win by 14 shots over Haylin Harris….had 21 birdies and an eagle, 11 more under-par holes than any other player…won by tournament record 14 shots…also set tournament record for 36 hole score (131), 54-hole score (200) …captured the tournament at Prairie View Golf Club…finished tied for fifth at the Michigan PGA Women’s Open where she had rounds of 71-69-71…also played in North-South Amateur and the  women’s Western Amateur where she shot 75-73.

In 2020-21:   Third on the team in stroke average with a 75.19, quite an accomplishment considering she had an 86 and an 89 in her second career tournament…had a 74.1 stroke average for her last 10 rounds… shot 72 or better in six of her last 13 rounds…tied for first on the team in Top 10s with two, she finished sixth at Florida State Matchup and ninth at the Clover Cup…tied for second on the team in rounds at par or better with six…made it three straight top 15s to end the regular season when she had 14th place at Clemson Invitational…tied Clemson record with 65 at the Clover Cup on March 14….tied Clemson overall record and the Clemson freshman record for score and score-vs.-par (-7)…had eight total birdies in that round, most by a Clemson women’s golfer this year…that included streak of four straight birdies on holes 6-9…shot a 30 on the front side in that round, also the low nine-hole score by a Clemson golfer this year….that 65 was the third lowest score by an ACC player this year and tied for fifth lowest among all freshmen nationally…it also tied for the 16th lowest round in the nation by any player…led the team in subpar strokes per round with 3.38…that was 33rd in the nation and  seventh best among all freshmen…ranked 84th nationally in par three scoring average (3.11)_…her score  counted in 18 of 21 rounds…had best score of the round five times and best of the tournament once (Florida State)…led the team in birdies with 68, she also had two eagles to lead the team…in the top 250 nationally by Golfstat (234) and Golfweek (249) at end of her freshman year.

In High School: Four-time first-team All-State in Indiana…finished in the top 10 of the Indiana State Tournament four consecutive years, including a third-place finish as a senior in fall of 2019… finished fourth as a junior and sophomore, and seventh as a freshman… helped her Zionsville High School team to three conference titles, four sectional championships and three top four finishes at the state championship….team was third in state her senior year and second as a junior… personal coach is Brent Nicoson…Annabelle won medalist honors at conference, sectional and regional as a senior….had state record 64 on way to winning the regional before finishing third at the state…won sectional as a junior, then finished fourth at the state tournament…finished runner up at sectional and fourth at the state as a sophomore…AJGA Academic Honor Roll…graduated with honors from Zionsville High…member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes… veteran of many AJGA tournaments, she won the Circle K Junior Championship at Otter Creek in 2019 with a 212 score…finished third at AJGA Girls Championship at Furman University with a 213 score…had nine top 12 finishes at AJGA events over 2018-19…played all over the U.S., she finished third at AJGA Girls, and third at AJGA Las Vegas at Reflection Bay….also had second place at 2018 AJGA Bluegrass Junior at Ashland, Kentucky….placed ninth at PGA Junior Girls Championship in 2018 with scores of 71-68-65-72.

Personal:   Born  Annabelle Elaine Pancake on April 22, 2002 in Baltimore, Maryland….daughter of Tony and Libby Pancake who both played college golf…Tony played University of Alabama from 1981-83 and Libby played at Arizona State from 1983-87…parents met as youngsters at a junior golf tournament… Libby won Indiana Women’s Amateur in 1985, same tournament Annabelle won in  2019 and 2021,…her aunt, Keli Akers, also won the same tournament in 1990…father is Director of Golf at Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, Indiana and mother teaches there…Annabelle has two siblings that played college golf as well, brother TJ played at Cedarville College in Ohio and sister Allie played at Lipscomb….Annabelle played her high school golf for Jeff Anderson…majoring in health science at Clemson…dream foursome would include Maria Fassi, Rory McIlroy and Amy Olson….Olson is her favorite LPGA player.
