Overview:  Transfer from Carson-Newman who moved into the Clemson starting lineup in 2022-23…second on the Clemson team in stroke average at 71.87, he led the team in under-par rounds.…had strong two years at Carson-Newman with a 72.10 average for 15 tournaments and 42 rounds…second-team DII All-American according to the Golf Coaches Association…all-conference and all-region as well…named the Male Athlete of the Year at Carson-Newman for 2021-22 academic year….had a victory at the Southern Tide Intercollegiate on October 26, 2021…had a career best nine-under-par 63 in the second round at that event…had five top 10s in 2021-22, including four top four finishes…had 71.0 stroke average in 2021-22, a school record and second best in conference history…all-conference and all-region his second year at Carson Newman, helping the team to a #6 final Golfstat team ranking at the D2 level…team was #9 in final coaches poll….a native of Denmark who was named to the Danish Nation Youth Squad 2017-19….first native of Denmark to compete on the Clemson golf team….played in a pair of professional tournaments on the ECCOTour in summer of 2022, one of Sweden and one in Denmark…made the cut in both events.

In 2021-22 at Carson Newman:   First-team all-conference and all-regional his final year at Carson Newman…had team best 71.0 stroke average that was school record for a season and second best in conference history…had team best four top 5s, six top 10s and eight top 20s…finished in top 25 in every tournament…won the Southern Tide Intercollegiate, the last tournament of the fall, with a 209 total, seven-under-par….had tournament best 18 birdies for the 54 holes…had 88.7 finish percentage for the year…had second round 63 at Southern Tide for his career best round…had consecutive third-place finishes in the first two tournaments of the spring, he was third at Hurricane Invitational and the Bearcat Classic…had team best 17 rounds at par or better, including team best 12 under-par rounds…had four consecutive rounds in the 60s at one point…had at least one round in the 60s in seven of his 10 tournaments…had four top 10s in the fall out of his five tournaments…was ranked as high as #4 player in Division !!  by Golfstat at one point in the season….team had nine top 5 finishes, Nielsen was a big reason for that..

in 2020-21 at Carson Newman: Played in five events as a true freshman…posted a 74.5 stroke average for his 13 rounds….had season best 70 at the Tennessee River Rumble on March 30, 2021…finished third in his first career event, the Wind River Invitational when the tournament was limited to just one round…finished the year strong with 20th place out of 63 players at the SAC Championship, he had rounds of 72-73-75.

High School:  Played his high school golf in Denmark at Birkerod Gymnasium School…played soccer and golf in high school….had 17 career top 10 finishes in high school, including six wins…had a 74.1 scoring average in high school….broke into the World Amateur rankings in his junior year of high school with a victory at a the DJGA Masters (U-18)…from 2017-19 he was selected for the Danish Nation Youth Squad.

Personal: Son of Niels Erik Nielsen….studying sports management at Clemson….brothers Tim and Thomas played golf at Kaiser and Southern Wesleyan, respectively.
