Overview:  Senior who has played in four tournaments for his career, two as a freshman in 209-20 and two in 2021-22…had solid summer of 2022 that included a Top 10 at The Rice Planters Amateur…has finished in the top 15 at the Rice Planters each of the last two years with four under-par rounds…came to Clemson from James Island Charter High School in Charleston…committed to Clemson two years before he signed…had outstanding junior career at AJGA events and in match play…grandson of former Clemson baseball All-American and 11-year Major Leaguer Ty Cline….Cline is in the Clemson Hall of Fame….two-time ACC Academic Honor Roll selection.

Summer 2022:   Had a solid summer of 2022…reached second round at South Carolina Match Play before losing to Clemson teammate Andrew Swanson 1-up…he had earlier defeated Cody Travis, 2-up…had best performance of the summer at the Rice Planters Amateur where he finished seventh with a 211 total after rounds of 70-72-69…also finished third at the Charleston City Amateur.

In 2021-22:  finished 19th at the Sharkey Invitational in February with a 231 score…had a 228 score at the J.T. Poston…had nine birdies for the two events combined…had 4.78 scoring average on par five holes and 4.13 on par fours…hit the fairway 70.24 percent of the time, second best on the team…his GIR percentage was 65.74 percent.

Summer 2021:  Played in four major events…finished 53rd at Azalea Amateur with 303 total…came back strong to finish 13th at Rice Planters with 212 score, he had rounds of 69-71-73…had top 25 at Eastern Amateur, he shot 284 to finish 24th…had consistent rounds of 72-72-72-68…shot -1 215 at Dogwood Amateur to finish 50th, he had opening round 67.

2019-20:   Played in two tournaments as a true freshman on Clemson’s 14th ranked team…had 77.83 stroke average for five rounds…best round was 75 at the Puerto Rico Classic individual tournament, his final round of the year that was cut short by the COVID19…played as an individual at the J.T. Poston in the fall, he shot 238…best round was final round 78…had rounds of 79-75-75 at Puerto Rico and finished 12th…had 13 birdies for his five rounds.

Before Clemson: Committed to Clemson in the Spring of 2016, over two years before he could sign….Clemson has been in his family, his grandfather Ty Cline is in Clemson Hall of Fame for his baseball accomplishments… Drayton won the CGA Junior Boys Championship in 2018 and finished third at the South Carolina Junior Match Play….had a pair of top four finishes at the Junior Azalea, third in 2016 and fourth in 2018…. finished in the top eight of the South Carolina Junior Golf Championship three of his last four years…. a top five finish at the Carolinas Junior Championship in 2016, the Charles Tilghman PGA in 2017 and the Jimmy Self Invitational in 2018….his father Danny Stewart is a teaching professional at the Country Club of Charleston and his sister Callie Stewart is a senior at Clemson….born Jan. 23, 2001…majoring in marketing at Clemson.
